Here is a summary of all the searches about sculpture that were directed to the Bondi Beach Home Page. The exhibition ran from 28th October until 14th November, but the weather was mostly wet. These searches are up by roughly 30% on last year. First week of October: 36 Second week of October: 58 Third week of October: 70 Last week of October: 418 First week of November: 437 Second week of November: 492 Third week of November: 62 Last week of November: 28 Once the event was over, the drop in searches was sudden and very steep. Once again, it's all over for another year. Second, there was a massive surge in traffic from the USA blogging and classified advertising site Craig's List. This is a very big site, with over 135 forums and a huge number of posts every day. Just a single post linked to a picture from the Non Smoker's web site, and this picture then appeared on forums for over 450 cities. The total surge was about 10,400 hits, beginning on the 22nd November. There were over 3400 hits in the first four hours and there was even 50 hits an hour in the middle of the night. A study of the client IP addresses shows 97% USA, 2% Canada and 1% for the rest of the world. The computers used to create this surge have been analysed: Operating System: XP 50%, Windows-7 18%, Vista 26%, Other Windows 1%, Mac 4%, everything else 1%. Browser: Internet Explorer 73%, Firefox 18%, Chrome 4%, Safari 4%, and everything else 1%. The Craig's List people are very conservative computer owners, with Vista still more popular than the new-fangled Windows-7. But there is not much old junk neither, and certainly not much Mac. Internet Explorer is still streets ahead of Firefox and Chrome. Differences to the previous surge from Holland are quite marked. ==================== ================= ======================= Farming news: Monsanto's patent on their weed killer "Roundup" has expired.
