Sculpture By The Sea ==================== This ran from Thursday 29th October to Sunday 15th November. The number of searches where the search string included the letters "sculpt" remained high for the entire two weeks, typically 40 to 55 searches per day. In the last two weeks of October there were 122 different searches containing "sculpt". In the first two weeks of November there were 202 different search strings typed; the total number of searches was 679. It's a very local event since 89% of these searches in the last two weeks came from within Australia. All told, over the 15 day period, about 870 sets of 20 thumbnails were shown to surfers, and they clicked on an average of 2.5 thumbnails in order to view the larger pic. Hits to the big pictures then tell you the popularity of each picture. This popularity as measured by hits varies widely but there are two simple rules: (a) big pictures where there was not enough detail visible just in the thumbnail and (b) any thumbnail picture of a young woman. Also it's clear the peak traffic time was on the two Friday nights and early on the Saturday mornings, suggesting that people were researching before their weekend visit. ============================ =============================
